Letter B Week Supplies

September 11, 2016

B is for BEAR! Corduroy the bear in particular. Corduroy is arguably the most loved and well known teddy bear in children’s literature. His hunt for his missing button also provides great inspiration for our letter B theme as well. I hope you’ll join us this week as we adventure through simple, play-inspired learning! Grab your copy of Corduroy (or put it on hold at your local library) and here’s all the rest you’ll need!

  • Counting Bears (or gummy bears work just as well)
  • Small bowls matching the colors of your counting bears (or gummy bears)
  • Buttons (lots and lots of buttons! at least about 2 dozen)
  • Glue
  • Glade Press and Seal
  • Crayons
  • Letter paper

My heart behind these activities is to not only encourage play-inspired learning but also to be realistic about what real moms have at home. From time to time we’ll use special resources (like this week’s counting bears) but I’ll try to provide easy alternatives too. I can’t wait to share all the fun I have planned for this week! Happy reading and learning! 🙂
