December Reading Log

November 27, 2019

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Especially when picture books come extra sweet! We have a small wire basket beside the Christmas tree filled with festive books to read under the twinkle lights. Each month this year I have been sharing our reading log printables. There are less spaces on the page than there are days in the month and that’s intentional. The reading log is less about keeping track and more about celebrating all the good books you’ve read! Color in a tree everytime you read a book or do a story time together or write in the book name on each tree as you go along! The choice is up to you!

Some of our favorite books include:

Little Blue Truck’s Christmas by Alice Schertle

Follow the Star by Rachel Brown

The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg

The King is Born by Mike Thomas

A Very Merry Christmas Prayer by Bonnie Rickner Jensen

A Christmas Goodnight by Nola Buck

The Remember Tree by Stefanie Hohl

I See a Star by Jean Marzollo

And while we love our Christmas picture books, I have to say my favorite thing to read throughout the holiday season is the Jesus Storybook Bible and Advent guide from Sally Lloyd Jones. We’ll read through the Storybook Bible in anticipation of Christmas and the celebration of Christ’s first coming! It is absolutely gorgeous and it’s FREE!
