We skipped out on our normal routine to make cookies this morning and was so much fun. Since they’ve been old enough we’ve entered our state fair every year. This year my big girl got a lesson from the queen of cookies and has her decorated set all ready to go! 💗 While ribbons and prizes are awarded we talked about enjoying the process, making memories together, and whether or not she wins we’ll have a ball creating entries and seeing them on display! 💗

When I started sharing on my blog and IG I partnered with several book publishers and authors. We got some really great books and I loved getting to share about them! Unfortunately, over time I’ve seen a significant degradation in the quality of children’s literature. More and more I can’t, in good conscience, recommend a lot of what gets sent to me. HOWEVER, when a treasure does come my way I am thrilled to share! Today in my stories I did a flip through of The Bracelet by Cindy Driggers. It’s a sweet story told from a child’s perspective on receiving the gospel. It’s a gentle story, great for continuing gospel conversations in our homes.💗

Over this school year I will continue to be committed to sharing solid book recommendations. More than ever I’m being selective with my partnerships. I plan to share several wonderful books we have used and loved in our home over what’s been sent to us. Beautiful, quality literature tends to be more difficult to find but it’s out there and well worth the search!

Our first day of CBS! Tried to lay everything out, pack lunches, fill out all the forms, make a plan for a smooth morning …and then the day began. My best laid plans got us most of the way there but as with every day there are variables we have no control over. 💗 It’s just becoming so glaringly obvious that the Lord is calling me to a life of surrender. In spite of all the bumps, we made it. Everyone enjoyed their classes. Several precious friends checked in on our guy when his glucose levels were all over the place, but we made it. Day by day we’re finding the way in our new normal. In a lot of ways I feel like a first-time mom again, but just like those newborn days with MJ these days won’t last forever. I’m learning to hold my plans loosely and trust the Lord to meet me around every corner, because He always has and He always will.

So many of us are adjusting to new routines. We’re working out schedules and determining what our days will look like this Fall. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming and if that’s where you’re at- you’re not alone. It’s not just the rest of us mamas out here feeling the weight of it all with you, it’s Jesus waiting to meet you. You’re not alone. He is with you, He will meet you and provide for each step.
