In the south we have this adorable cultural thing where we call little unexpected gifts, "surcies." It's just a fun little something you might give because you saw it and knew the recipient would love it. Or maybe someone's having a tough day so you send a surcie to brighten their day. Last year my sister gave me the sweetest back to school surcie. She got school themed plates and napkins, tied them up with a bow and added the sweetest note of encouragement.
