This collection of activities is intended to be used as a week’s worth of special lessons for a poetry themed study. However, you should use this collection as it best suits your family. The unit covers an introduction to poetry, introduction to figurative language, various forms of poetry (acrostic, haiku, cinquain, shape/concrete, free verse, and diamantes)

I have written this resource to be used at various levels. Children can practice writing poems independently or you can work together to write the poems you learn about.
